Voices of the Mojave

Voices of the Mojave

New group exhibition at the Desert Light Gallery, Kelso, CA. Includes three images from Mojave Moonlight.

From the Press Release:

As the traffic of the city fades and the highway narrows the blue of the sky intensifies and the soft wind whispers about the Joshua Trees. A coyote’s lonesome cry echoes in the canyons and ancient lava fields crackle as their radiant heat escapes in the cool night air. Sunlight dances in the choyo cactus garden as the dew of morning entices desert blossoms to open with explosions of color that dance across the desert floor. The artist and the poet revel in the silence ponder the mystery of all that surrounds them and give voice to a landscape waiting to be discovered.

In this photographic retrospective series of belly flowers, nightscapes, forgotten roads and windswept dunes, National Park Artist In Residence alumni exhibit their achievements lending Mojave National Preserve, their combined voice to raise awareness for one of America’s great treasures.

Featuring the photography of:
Terry Ellis, Bob Killen, Tom Lowe, Norman Schwartz, Jim Smart, Gabe Thornburn
and the poetry of
