Covered Aqueduct

This image is from my series, Caged River, Quenching Angels Thirst and has been shortlisted in Outdoor Photography Magazine’s Light on the Land Photographer of the Year 2015 contest. Very honored to be included.

The photo series follows the Los Angeles Aqueduct from it’s opening in the Owens Valley to Los Angeles. William Mullholland engineered the 230+ mile system and based its original inception on Roman technology and a series of siphons using gravity as the only source of power to move the water. Opened in 1913 to much fanfare it is credited with helping Los Angeles grow into one of the world’s great cities.

Prints will be made available for purchase in 2016.
