Beyond the selfie!
You'll use the Headshot portrait for all of your self-promotion needs - social media, electronic press kits, websites, etc.
A headshot session usually lasts sixty to ninety minutes on location, in your home or at your office. It can take longer but that’s the average. You want to be comfortable, so pick a place you can be your best. The session includes as many looks as we can squeeze into the time frame (average 3 looks). I travel with a white seamless, gray and black backdrops. Again, it depends on the final usage.
The session fee does not include makeup or hair. I have professionals I work with that I highly recommend. For women the average charge is $150.00 and men $100.00. You pay them direct. It is up to you if you'd like to use their services (highly recommend it as they further reduce the stress you might feel about looking great). This will be a headshot you'll use for the next six months to a year or longer - you want to look amazing!
Session includes immediate review of your headshots while we’re together then I'll post an edited gallery (to share with the world) of select photos. After you select them, you will receive three high resolution retouched digital files, and your unlimited usage rights. Additional retouched images are $20.00 each.
I get asked all the time, "What should I wear?" I think a large part of this decision is what you plan to use the headshot for. If you're an actor then you want your wardrobe to compliment your talents. If you're a lawyer you want to exude confidence so something formal. Whatever the end usage, make sure you're comfortable in the clothes. If you're not, then it shows in the final image. Bring or have four or five choices and we can discuss what looks best when we meet.
I’m happy to meet prior to our session if you’d like to discuss your needs in more detail.

Tom is amazing! I needed professional photos for my digital press kit (I’m a musician). I’m not particularly experienced at “modeling,” so I was pretty nervous–however, Tom made it not only easy but also a lot of fun. The final product is incredible! I ended up using the photos for my website and social media sites as well as for my press kit. Tom was also very fast at getting pics back to me. I’ve had to wait weeks with other photographers, so having the final product in a few days was great. I highly recommend Tom!
Getting my head shots done with Tom was an awesome experience! He was so professional and made me feel so comfortable. He’s very talented and I will definitely will be going back to him.
Tom Lowe is not only incredible at what he does, but he’s also one of the nicest people ever! He definitely knows how to accommodate the actor and bring their headshot session to life. He’s very clear and kind with his direction, which makes it easy for any actor to relax and trust that they’ll get great photos. I was very specific going into the shoot, and he captured exactly what I needed; and we had a blast! All I’ve got to say is, everyone should work with Tom. I can’t wait to book with my new shots!”
This was my first time taking headshots, and I couldn’t have asked for a better photographer. I was nervous about being in front of the camera, but with Tom Lowe’s guidance, I immediately felt comfortable. In no time at all, I had a beautifully lit assortment of headshots that allowed my personality to come through, thanks to his direction. I was very pleased with the results of my shoot and would definitely recommend Tom Lowe Photo to anyone seeking professional headshots and photos.
I was never a big fan of headshots; they seem kind of annoying and arbitrary and sometimes make you feel very much like a slab of meat. Through my session with Tom, however, not only did I leave with an incredible selection of photos, but also a drastically different perception of what a headshot really can be. Tom focuses in on what kind of essence you want to pop from your shot, and he gives excellent direction to get you there.
It’s obvious that he has had a great deal of experience casting–his insight and perspective on their own felt worth the price of admission, and the photos I ended up with were splendid! Simple, flattering, and just what a headshot should be. These are real headshots coming from a real professional (no garden-dwelling, nature-oriented nonsense that distracts from your face). On top of everything, I never felt that Tom was “directing” the shoot; he always made sure that I felt comfortable and in control of what we were producing.
In my opinion, a no-brainer. You need headshots, go to Tom Lowe Photo.
